Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.

DISCIPLINE IN MARTIAL ARTS CLASSES
The ability to control emotions, desires, and reactions is an important thing to learn both in personal and professional life. However, it’s very difficult to reach this state of balance and control, but with regular practice of martial arts, it’s possible. Martial arts for adults and kids is not just a way to improve health or to learn self-defense, it’s way more than this!
Enrolling a child or yourself in a martial arts program at SMA can be a way to help build the discipline involving fun and mastering difficult skills by participating in rituals that encourage respect, concentration, and focus. The process during a typical training session involves respect, standing quietly while awaiting instructions, and following instructions. Those skills learned in our programs help to let discipline become a part of daily life as well.
DISCIPLINE within yourself
Many may think that standing at attention and going through traditional forms don’t do much for us, but that is far from the truth. These abilities are key abilities in our Martial Arts family. We’ve learned that when one starts to be able to control their body and pay attention to minute details during smaller tasks, their ability to do the same in their life outside classes also increases.
Standing at attention and listening to the instructor during classes encourages us to have the same behavior elsewhere. For younger students, that means being able to listen to parents at home and teachers at school. For adult students, it helps with being able to listen better and connect to the people around you like friends, co-workers or bosses.
Within our programs at SMA, we focus on the tiniest of details when practicing. Not only does this teach extreme attention to detail, but it also helps to develop fine motor control of our bodies and helps you become aware of the connection between body and mind.
DISCIPLINE to achieve goals
When you decide to join the Sovereign family, there are specific goals given that are unique to you, on your own journey. You won’t start with the highest goal first, you will learn step by step through a well-planned journey from one goal to the next until you achieve perfection at each step.
By being disciplined and focused, you will reach your goals and learn that you can achieve all your goals if you fight for it. The ability to discipline yourself and focus on realistic goals is a great benefit of martial arts training that helps you succeed in every aspect of life. Reaching those goals by maintaining discipline and a strong will builds self-confidence and makes the personality grow.
