Why Train Krav Maga?

By Sensei Gabrielle DiazCervo

Krav Maga is one of the world’s deadliest martial arts discipline. This self-defense is Israel’s

defense force is a lethal method of survival. This martial arts discipline contains kickboxing,
Judo, Jiu-jitsu, and Aikido and can become very powerful as a Krav Maga student.
Krav Maga means contact combat from Hebrew.

Krav Maga is actually a self-defense system that anyone can use. Regardless of your size, strength, or level of fitness. The great part about this system is that it focuses on simple and practical techniques. It's tailored for real life scenarios and no one needs prior martial arts experience.
I truly believe everyone should take at least a year of Krav Maga classes. It's truly knowledgeable and you will gain so much from the class. I have put a list together down below on why.

1. It’s a great exercise- In Krav Maga, you gain lots of strength and stamina. You get to use
anything you have at your disposal as a weapon and this includes your body. And every
class, you go through a warm-up that gets you very loose, go through lots of combative's
that are used for when you're defending yourself and then you go into the techniques
The warm-up is definitely the key because it helps you become more effective and it's a bonus
in keeping you in shape.

2. It boost confidence – The more you progress in your training and become at ease with your
self-defense skills, the more empowered you feel. The more you stick with the practice and the
more you come to your classes you'll likely feel that you're able to take on just about anything
or anyone.

3. It increases awareness – Krav Maga students are expected to address to the techniques and
really rely on the instant when getting away from violent attacks. You're supposed to use your
head and your body simultaneously it's not just about reacting but is also on knowing the
situation.

Krav Maga's main goal is to neutralize the threat and attacker as fast as possible. Krav Maga is
not a sport, it is a lifestyle. Of course, during the class you're in Kurt incurs to control and to
have safety first with your point it to avoid any injuries to the person or yourself.

My favorite part personally about Krav Maga, is that it's super simple. You can be five years old
or you can be 90 years old it's for anybody and anyone can use it. Krav Maga focuses only on
three simple moves strikes, holds, and blocks. It was created with effectiveness and efficiency
so you're allowed to use any move you think would quickly get the job done.

It's also continuous motion which translates to an explosion of violence. The goal is to win over
the attacker with continuous amounts of aggressive and offensive movements.

Krav Maga also teaches us to use any object within reach as a weapon during a fight. I believe it's the most useful thing to know about!
