1.Karate reduces aggressiveness. –

Of course, there’s a balance of when to be aggressive and when not to be. Many people believe that karate gets kids too aggressive and it wouldn’t be such a great idea for their kids.  Martial arts does teach self-defense, whose main goal is to become aggressive but the fact is that it’s done the opposite. The longer students perform martial arts, the lower their level of aggression. The reason is that they are more likely to become more aware of rising anger in others and deflect situations that could lead to violence. Also, karate teaches practicing routines rather than actually hitting people.

2. Muscle Tone-

Yes! You will actually get toned. Every time I talk about martial arts I love mentioning that. Especially when someone says they aren’t in shape. You can really improve the amount of muscle mass you have in your body. High levels of muscle mass also lead to increased, agility, preventing falls as you age.

3. A better mood-

I’m really serious about this one. I have students from a young age to seniors who are lazy to want to come to class. Yet, when they get there they are so happy they did and feel so much better after the class. Researchers have found that participating in a regular exercise routine is one of the best ways to improve your mood. Performing martial arts is not only a good way to relieve stress and frustration, but may actually help to make you happier.

4. Teaches you great morals and values:

Martial arts is wisdom has it that after consistent practice, one becomes less impulsive and aggressive towards others.  This reminds students of the right attitude, the frame of mind and virtues to strive inside and outside the dojo.

5. Self-confidence-

Having goals in the martial arts, positive encouragement and respect for values that are part of all martial arts programs, the greatest benefit usually by students have greater self-confidence. You become more comfortable in all situations. Whether you’re in danger or simply doing a task that takes you beyond your comfort zone.
